LPP will invest PLN 400 million in a new distribution centre
LPP, a clothing manufacturer in Gdańsk, will build a new distribution centre in the Brześć Kujawski municipality (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship). The investment, worth nearly 400 million PLN, will allow the company’s current warehouse space to be doubled. The new centre is to serve the stationary stores of the flagship brand Reserved. About 1,000 people will be employed there.
Design work on the investment site will start this autumn. According to the plan, the centre in Brześć Kujawski will be launched at the turn of 2021 and 2022. The area of the centre will be 100,000 m2. A total of 10 million clothes items and accessories will be sent weekly from the new distribution centre to Reserved stores around the world.
The investment in Brześć Kujawski is a part of the LPP’s development strategy in the coming years. Development of our stationary network in Poland and abroad and significant increases in the online sales share are challenges that require technologically advanced logistics facilities – says Jacek Kujawa, LPP’s vice-president of logistics and IT. We’ve chosen Brześć Kujawski due to its location in central Poland, great communication with the main transport axis of our country and the potential for the job market. The positive attitude of the local government to our investment was also important – adds Jacek Kujawa.
LPP plans to employ approximately 1,000 people in the new distribution centre. The company will look for warehouse employees, maintenance specialists, logistics employees, engineers and managers.
After the launch of a centre dedicated to Reserved in Brześć Kujawski, the service of stationary sales of other LPP brands will be carried out in the distribution centre in Pruszcz Gdański. Currently, it is the largest and most modern building used for clothes distribution in Central and Eastern Europe. From this location, LPP sends 8 million items of clothing to its stores per week.
