LPP wins Digital Excellence Award

LPP wins Digital Excellence Award

LPP has won an award in the Digital Excellence competition, in the “Operating efficiency” category. The award committee recognised this Polish clothing company as a leader in digital transformations, with their proprietary “Store Vision” application significantly improving the operational effectiveness of the entire organisation.

The award committee comprised directors of the most recognisable and innovative Polish companies, granting awards to those at the forefront of Polish digitalisation. The winners included 5 companies that have been able to improve results in their organisation by utilising data analytics, digital tools and the capabilities of modern markets.

On 17 October, the Digital Excellence Awards Gala took place in Warsaw, during which the authors of the most innovative IT projects were awarded. The factors being judged included project innovativeness and their contribution to changes in the customers’ shopping experience, elimination of ineffective processes and improvement in organisational productivity.

The following companies qualified for the final: LPP S.A., Echo Investment, Raiffeisen Polbank, Budimex, AXA Ubezpieczenia, Eobuwie.pl, Rossmann, AGH, Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture and Żabka.

The committee analysed the projects within 5 categories: digital strategy implementation, customer experience enrichment, operating effectiveness enhancement, developing the digital competence of the staff and innovativeness stimulation.

The committee recognised the design of the proprietary Store Vision application submitted by LPP as the best digital project, one which significantly improved the operating effectiveness of the organisation. This is just one example of many proprietary mobile technologies implemented in LPP stores. By simple scanning of the product bar code using a smartphone, the system provides information regarding availability both in a given store and the entire sales network, and hence enables users to define goods turnover in a store as well as the inventory levels. It also helps in effectively stocking a sales area and managing the product display. Moreover, it facilitates product management and enhances work effectiveness.

“We are extremely proud of the Store Vision application that we submitted for the award. This application has been positively received by its users. The excellent efforts made by our IT team have seen their reward by LPP being able to win the Digital Excellence Award and the genuine appreciation expressed by this external audience. Without their commitment and business understanding, and especially without their striving to enhance our operations, a project like Store Vision could have never been conceived and hence never be so highly appreciated today,” said Jacek Kujawa, Vice-President of the Management Board of LPP.

At LPP there are a total of 350 IT specialists involved in technological projects. The company’s expenditure on technologies is approximately PLN 60 million per year. Store Vision is a fully proprietary application, being a bottom-up initiative put forward by the company’s personnel. LPP utilises new technologies during all operational stages, from garment design, logistics to multichannel sales and after-sales customer service. It actively develops, implements and uses cutting-edge tools, treating them as an integral part of its activity.

“Although we are a fashion company, the direction our operations take is determined by our technologies, supported by a team of specialists. Now we are facing new challenges. We take pride in being regarded as a leader in digital transformation, but we also feel obliged to face new digital challenges. So we intend to face them head-on, with no loss of momentum,” added Jacek Kujawa.

Implementation of RFID, the most extensive IT project in the history of LPP, is the next stage for the awarded project. The company has decided to develop a fully proprietary application based on RFID technology, and to independently modify systems and processes in numerous areas of its operations. A total of 80 people are currently involved in the project.
