LPP debuts in Finland: the Polish clothing manufacturer present on 25 markets

The Polish clothing manufacturer made its debut in Finland in October this year. It is the 25th country on the map of the Gdańsk-based company. The presence of all five LPP brands in the Mall of Tripla, one of Helsinki’s most important shopping centres, is of strategic importance for building LPP recognition in the new region.

The Mall of Tripla is the largest shopping centre in Finland, designed to shape trends, culture and urban space. Within a radius of just 1 km from the centre, there are key locations on the Helsinki map, which attract around 3.6 million visitors per year: Hartwall Arena, Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre, Olympic Stadium and Linnanmäki amusement park. The newly opened gallery combines Finnish tastes and the hottest international brands in one place. Among 250 retail outlets the customers may find the stores of the Polish brands: Reserved, Mohito, Cropp, House, and Sinsay, occupying a total area of 6520 m2.

– The main factor determining the decision to open our stores here is the attractiveness of the retail space, which is why we decided to debut all five brands in Helsinki. The Mall of Tripla is a fantastic location transportwise and a multifunctional facility, which gives us the potential to reach both Finns and tourists visiting the capital city. The debuting centre has a chance to become the most important retailer on the map of Finland – comments Przemysław Lutkiewicz, Vice-President of LPP for Finance.

Tripla complex was designed not only to create a large shopping centre. An integral part of the complex is also a hotel, residential apartments, office space, catering and entertainment zone. It is also very well connected with public transport and the airport, which is only 20 minutes away from the city centre. The Polish clothing manufacturer is the only tenant who, as a result of successful negotiations, opened as many as 5 stores in this place.

– In accordance with the adopted strategy for the development of the brick-and-mortar store chain, we want our brands to be present in the most important retail outlets on the map of Europe. The debut in Finland is yet another milestone. It is a demanding and hermetic market, but we like challenges. Especially if building a global recognition of our brands is at stake – adds Przemysław Lutkiewicz.

The state-of-the-art Mall of Tripla also sets trends in the field of ecological design of retail space, which is part of the sustainable development strategy of the Polish manufacturer. The design takes into account spacious green areas which additionally cover 1/3 of the roof surface of the centre. In addition, the facility is equipped with a rainwater collection system, which means about 40% less use of clean water than in comparable facilities. The building itself serves also as an environmentally friendly hub for public transport – there are 3400 places for bicycles and 300 places for electric cars.

After the Finnish debut, LPP branded brick-and-mortar stores are now operating on 25 markets. In recent months, the Polish manufacturer has also launched online sales in Ukraine, which is the 13th e-commerce market for the company. In 2020, the company plans to open the first brick-and-mortar stores in North Macedonia, which will strengthen its position in the region of South-Eastern Europe.
