Half a million masks for medical facilities in 6 weeks

Half a million protective masks have already been delivered to Polish hospitals as part of the #LPPpomaga action The extensive activities allowed the company to offer help to 160 facilities located all over the country in just 6 weeks. Smooth implementation of this support is possible thanks to the enormous commitment of LPP employees.

In response to the growing demand for protection measures in medical facilities, the company from Gdańsk expanded its activities within the framework of the #LPPpomaga campaign and handed over already half a million protective masks to those in need. They have been distributed to isolation-only hospitals for COVID-19 patients, isolation hospitals, other health care facilities and social welfare homes throughout Poland. In just 6 weeks, the help has reached 160 such places.

– Initially, we focused on supporting hospitals from the Tricity, Kraków and the surrounding areas, namely the areas where our headquarters are located. After a few days, we started to receive e-mails and phone calls with detailed requests for help from all over Poland. Daily transports with protective measures are now shipped to other regions of the country, including Wrocław, Łódź, Bydgoszcz, Kielce, Białystok and many smaller towns. We are trying to respond to the requests on an ongoing basis, helping those most in need wherever possible – says Patrycja Zbytniewska, President of the LPP Foundation.

The above-mentioned actions are not the only initiatives taken by the company in the fight against the epidemic. In the LPP offices in Gdańsk, Kraków and Warsaw, designers and employees of the product preparation department sew cotton masks, and recently also protective overalls, designed for non-medical staff. So far, over 16 thousand such masks and over a thousand overalls have been delivered.

– Many of our employees have been involved in the #LPPpomaga action together. More than a hundred people from different departments have joined in all related activities. The shipment of masks to hospitals is coordinated by a team of several people, distribution is handled by colleagues from the administration department, the masks are sewn, among others, by employees from the product preparation department, and designers are involved in sewing the overalls. This shows that by acting together we are able to increase the scale of our assistance in a real and fast way – stresses Patrycja Zbytniewska.

Apart from material support, LPP will also earmark 10% of the turnover from the sale of the latest collection by its flagship brand Reserved called Joyful #EcoAware, as well as 10% of the proceeds from the sale of the collection from the ECOAware line of Mohito and Cropp brands for helping isolation hospitals in Gdańsk and Kraków.
