LPP Foundation launches the “Design the Future” scholarship programme
April saw the launch of another LPP Foundation’s initiative, focusing on supporting the development and education of the youth from the Polish Pomorskie region. The “Design the Future” scholarship programme is aimed at children finishing primary school. As part of the programme, LPP Foundation covers the costs of education in a private secondary school, as well as finance books, school trips and the development of passions. Those who are interested in participation and meet the requirements set out in the regulations can apply up until 20 April.
LPP Foundation, the mission of which is supporting people in need since the beginning of its operations, gets involved in and co-creates many local initiatives, especially those aimed at the youngest residents of the Pomorskie region and the Tricity. Working in line with the idea that every little bit of help given to people in need makes a huge difference to their future and realistically increases the chance of building lasting social change, it focuses first and foremost on levelling the playing field for young people.
In April 2024, the Foundation launched its original programme, which this time focuses on children finishing primary schools in the Pomorskie region. “Design the Future” is a scholarship programme giving students many opportunities to develop their interests and passions, as well as – most importantly – giving them a chance to gain an education at a renowned private school, which is Gdańskie Liceum Autonomiczne (GLA). The school has been operating for more than 35 years and has been ranked at the top of prestigious educational rankings every year. This year the school has been awarded a Golden Shield in the Perspektywy Ranking. It ensures a high level of education and individual development paths. Each student starting school can choose any course of study for themselves: economics, medicine, humanities or mathematics. In addition to a specialised profile, the school also offers additional foreign language classes and an extended course of study, which increases the chances of getting into the university of one’s dreams.
– In line with the Foundation’s mission, we want every initiative we implement not only to offer ready-made solutions, but also to open up many new development opportunities for young people. In the “Design the Future” programme, we want to help youths to gain an education and nurture various interest, thanks to which our activities have a chance to produce tangible results. Supporting people who often have a hindered start and limited possibilities when it comes to choosing the dream education path is crucial to us. We want the access to equal and valuable education to be dependent on personal aptitudes. That is why we have decided to launch this programme. We believe that the scholarship and possibility of studying in the best private secondary school in the Pomorskie region will give them the opportunities for their next educational or professional successes – says Patrycja Zbytniewska, CEO of the LPP Foundation, Leader of the Sustainable Reporting Team and Relations with the Social Environment of LPP.
The scholarship granted by LPP Foundation is intended for students finishing primary school this year and living within the Pomorskie Voivodeship. According to the terms of the classification, they should distinguish themselves with very good or promising learning results and show a desire to develop their interests. An important criterion for participation in the programme is the net income threshold, which must not exceed PLN 2,500 per month per person in the household.
The “Design the Future” programme provides the opportunity to take advantage of a range of benefits. First and foremost, it pays the school’s tuition fee, completely covering its costs. This also includes full funding for the children’s commute home and, for those outside the Tricity, guarantees not only accommodation but also meals all day. LPP Foundation also co-finances the purchase of books and school trips. The scholarship also includes discount vouchers for shopping at LPP brand stores. What’s more, each scholarship recipient will receive up to PLN 2,500 a year to develop their interests and nurture their passions.
The scholarship programme also includes plans for interesting leisure activities. The scholarship recipients will participate in a range of educational, cultural and social initiatives. There are plans not only for joint outings for a pizza, to museums or concerts, but also many opportunities to develop one’s talents, such as taking part in graffiti workshops or volunteering activities run by the LPP Foundation.
Recruitment for the scholarship programme is divided into two stages. The first stage is to fill in the application form, which is available at: https://www.lpp.com/fundacja-lpp/stypendium/#zgloszenie. Those selected for the second stage will be interviewed by representatives of LPP Foundation and Gdańskie Liceum Autonomiczne. By 30 June 2024, a list of those who have passed both recruitment stages, to either receive a scholarship or added to the reserve list, will be published on the official LPP website.
