LPP receives the CSR Silver Leaf award

LPP receives the CSR Silver Leaf award

LPP, a Polish family business and a leading clothing manufacturer, has been honoured with the CSR Silver Leaf – an award granted for nine years by the editors of Polityka in cooperation with Deloitte and the Responsible Business Forum. The award is given to companies that actively implement cross-area activities in line with social responsibility, both on a local and global level. The jury takes into account the achievements of companies in such key areas as: corporate governance, human rights, attitudes towards employees, environmental protection, customer care, business integrity and social commitment.

The organisers of the 9th edition of the ranking appreciated the everyday operations of LPP that relies on the company’s best local and global governance practices, while applying international standards of social and environmental responsibility.

We consider the inclusion of LPP among the laureates of the CSR Leaves as the crowning achievement of many years of activities for sustainable development, social responsibility and ethical behaviour in key areas of our company’s operations. Companies awarded with the CSR Silver Leaves are at the same time considered to be those for which both the ethics management system and acting in accordance with international guidelines on responsibility and social and environmental impact are a key place in everyday activity. In LPP, we have been implementing such standards for years and often we are the first or even the only Polish company to join international initiatives to radically reduce its environmental impact, concludes Anna Miazga, Sustainability Expert, LPP.

Only in 2019, the company was the only Polish company to join the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment – a global initiative for a circular economy in plastics management. It has also become a member of the world’s largest business initiative for sustainable development – United Nations Global Compact. In addition, the Gdańsk-based company has adopted a new Sustainable Development Strategy “For People For Our Planet”, declaring a clear shift towards ecology, setting itself ambitious goals to be attained by 2025.

– Last year was one of the most intensive years in terms of activities undertaken by LPP for sustainable development. We are all the more pleased that our activity and efforts have been noticed. Being awarded the CSR Silver Leaf by the editors of Polityka, Deloitte and the Responsible Business Forum is a powerful catalyst for further intensive activities for our environment, adds Anna Miazga.
