The poMOCY Academy begins – with a series of workshops for those working with children and young people

Thanks to our financial support, the Professor Tadeusz Bilikiewicz Provincial Psychiatric Hospital in Gdańsk will run 20 workshops for people who work with children and young people on a daily basis. Attendees will learn how to recognise and appropriately respond to signs of mental health crises in young people. The poMOCY Academy launches in March.

Education as a tool in tackling mental health issues among the youngest

Children and teenagers face a variety of mental health challenges. Sadly, the scale of the problem remains vast. Those close to a child or adolescent often struggle to notice worrying signs. Many people also do not know how to respond properly or provide meaningful help to a young person in distress.

That is why the Professor Tadeusz Bilikiewicz Provincial Psychiatric Hospital in Gdańsk, with financial backing from the LPP Foundation, is launching the poMOCY Academy. This is a series of 20 workshops focused on recognising and responding to signs of mental health crises in children and young people. The workshops are aimed at those who work with the youngest members of society: including teachers, educators, psychologists, and carers. They are often the first to notice a problem. It is vital to equip them with the skills to respond effectively.

The poMOCY Academy will reach every district in the Pomorskie Voivodeship, visiting both large and smaller towns. The workshops will begin in the second half of March.

The topic of mental health among children and teenagers is very close to our Foundation’s heart. That is why, together with the hospital, we have created the poMOCY Academy. We are proud that our contribution has enabled such vital workshops to take place.
