LPP Logistics has signed a cooperation agreement with the Electrical School Complex in Włocławek
LPP Logistics has established cooperation with the Electrical School Complex in Włocławek. Under the concluded agreement, the school’s technical lab will be equipped with modern teaching aids. Patronage of the school by the logistics operator of the Polish clothing group LPP is also an opportunity for students to take part in paid summer internships at the company or study visits to modern distribution centres in Brześć Kujawski or Pruszcz Gdański.
The LPP Group has been supporting schools as well as social and educational projects in the vicinity of the Brześć Economic Zone since 2019 that marked the decision to build a Distribution Centre in this location. So far, the company has financed, among other things, English lessons and programming classes in primary schools, as well as participated in social projects implemented by the local authorities aimed at the youngest residents. Another step strengthening the educational offer in the region is the cooperation of LPP Logistics with the Electrical School Complex in Włocławek.
– By opening new logistics centres, we are also opening up to the local community, including cooperation with schools and universities. We try to identify those facilities that fit into our strategy of building valuable partnerships with the educational community. We regularly participate in job fairs organised by universities, we invite pupils and students on study visits where they can learn about our distribution centres, we offer summer internships, and we also give guest lectures at schools and universities. Thanks to these activities, we are becoming better known, not only as a good neighbour, but above all as a potential employer. Cooperation with the Electrical School Complex in Włocławek, which we have chosen because of its reputation and high level of education in professions with profile matching our recruitment needs, allows us to strengthen our commitment to the development of vocational potential and technical competencies in a key region for us – comments Sławomir Ronkowski, director of image communication and community relations at LPP and LPP Logistics.
As part of the agreement signed on 17 May 2024 between LPP Logistics and the Electrical School Complex in Włocławek, the company undertook to equip the technical lab with teaching aids to support the education process in the following professions: automation technician, electrical technician and electronics technician. Funding was provided for, among other things, PLC controllers, touch screens, or tools and measuring instruments necessary for teaching. In addition to state-of-the-art equipment for the technical lab, students from the school in Włocławek also gained the opportunity to take part in paid summer internships at the company or study visits to distribution centres in Brześć Kujawski or Pruszcz Gdański. LPP Logistics experts will also support the teachers by giving guest lectures.
– Our cooperation with LPP Logistics already started in 2019 with a study visit to Pruszcz Gdański. At that time, together with students and other tutors, we had the opportunity to learn about the technological processes taking place there. I remember that we were impressed mainly by those related to advanced automation. This makes me even more excited about the next stage of our cooperation. LPP Logistics’ patronage of our school opens up new development opportunities for students and strengthens the educational offer of our automation lab. Just as in business, the technological background that supports the acquisition of practical skills is becoming increasingly important in education. We strive to ensure that the teaching methods we offer are as close as possible to the latest standards and practical requirements of the labour market. Close cooperation with and support from one of the most prominent employers in the region definitely makes this task easier – comments Piotr Człapiński, head of the Electrical School Complex in Włocławek.
Launched in 2022, the LPP Group’s Distribution Centre in Brześć Kujawski has allowed for the creation of many jobs, primarily for people with technical education. In April, expansion of the facility with an additional warehouse hall began, which will ultimately have a positive impact on local job market.
