LPP showered with awards for social activities
LPP secured a place among the winners of this year’s edition of the Trustworthy Employer competition. The jury awarded the company the main prize for its volunteering programme, thus appreciating the involvement of LPP employees in initiatives for the benefit of those in need. The social activities carried out by the LPP Foundation were, in turn, awarded in the “Healthy Future – INSPIRATIONS 2024” ranking, promoting the best projects in the area of health care. The “Blue Sneakers” initiative was recognised as the winning programme in the “Prevention actions and promoting a healthy lifestyle” category. In the same competition, LPP also received the second prize in the category “Activities for employee health and safety” for the “heLPP” employee support programme.
Involvement in social initiatives is one of the inherent elements of LPP’s organisational culture. As part of its ongoing activities, the company supports a number of projects for the wellbeing of employees and the social environment, and the range and scope of the initiatives undertaken is increasing year on year. In this context, the beginning of November brought the LPP Group as many as two reasons to celebrate. On 6 November this year, at a gala ceremony of the “Trustworthy Employer” competition, the company received the main award in the “Volunteering” category. Launched in 2009 by a number of NGOs, think tanks and universities, the competition promotes good employer role models such as social commitment, promotion of volunteering, accessibility and inclusivity of the company. The competition committee consisted of representatives of entities that are close to the broadly understood employee issues, including: the National Chamber of Commerce, the Adam Smith Centre and the Polish Economic Society.
– For LPP, employee volunteering is not just a concept – it is part of our brand DNA, our hallmark and a key pillar of our organisational culture. It allows our employees to have a real impact on their surroundings and use their competences. This award belongs first and foremost to them – our volunteers, whom we would like to thank first and foremost for their time, energy and heart put into helping others – comments Sławomir Ronkowski, director of brand communication and social relations at LPP, who represented the company at the award gala.
In the first three quarters of this year alone, 350 LPP employees participated in volunteer actions such as “Shop Without Receipts”, “Styling Action”, helping at the “Promyk” shelter or sewing rehabilitation cushions with the 3maliny Foundation. Since 2019, the company has carried out seven editions of Minigrants, in which nearly 200 employees have carried out as many as 51 concepts. To subsidise them, the company has allocated a total of almost PLN 255,000.
The social activities carried out by the company were also recognised in the 7th edition of the “Healthy Future – INSPIRATIONS” competition, organised as part of the “Safe Future Hospital” programme. This year, several hundred projects were submitted, which were evaluated by a number of jury members – health care practitioners and winners from previous years. By their decision, the project supported by the LPP Foundation – “Blue Sneakers in Metropolia” – was recognised as the best in the “Prevention actions and promoting a healthy lifestyle” category. In the ‘Activities for employee health and safety” category, in turn, the “heLPP” programme was distinguished, which resulted in Gdańsk-based company receiving the second prize for offering employees and their families anonymous psychological, financial and legal assistance. The award ceremony took place on 7 November this year in the auditorium of the National Medical Institute of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration in Warsaw.
– In recent years, concern for mental health has become one of our priorities for community involvement. Our foundation bases its activities on dialogue with organisations in the company’s immediate environment. By talking to them, we are able to identify the most pressing problems and identify the groups who need our support. One such project is the “Blue Sneakers in Metropolia” club, which we see as an investment in a better future for young people. The award for this initiative proves that our activities are needed and appreciated. We feel inspired and even more strongly motivated to continue our mission by responding to the real needs of children and young people in the region – comments Patrycja Zbytniewska, president of the LPP Foundation..
The LPP Foundation has been supporting the Blue Sneakers initiative since 2021. It initially focused on organising meetings and concerts for young people. In turn, in December 2023, thanks to the cooperation with the FOSA Foundation – the organiser of the project, the city of Gdańsk and Metropolia Gallery, a club for children and young people was established, whose year-round financing is provided by the LPP Foundation, while the premises were ensured free of charge by the Gallery. The project is a response to existing shortages in access to psychological support and is an important element of the Gdańsk Foundation’s activities for young people in the Pomeranian region. Blue Sneakers is not only a venue for workshops and theme-based meetings on mental health. It is first and foremost a friendly space where young people receive the psychological support that is so necessary nowadays.
