LPP wins ESG Golden Leaf for the third year in a row
LPP has once again won the ESG Golden Leaf, an award granted for thirteen years now by the editors of “Polityka” to companies implementing the best corporate social responsibility and sustainable development practices and solutions.
This year, for the thirteenth time, the “Polityka” weekly, Deloitte and the Responsible Business Forum have distinguished Polish leaders after assessing their activities in terms of environmental, social and corporate governance. In view of the changes in EU regulations and the evolving approach to corporate social responsibility, the awards have been renamed from CSR Leaves to ESG Leaves.
LPP has been recognised for its consistent efforts to integrate sustainability into the key elements of its business strategy and build lasting relationships with its stakeholders. The explanatory memorandum highlights the company’s compliance with local and global best management practices and the way it reports its operations in non-financial statements. During this year’s edition, the spotlight has been on decarbonisation processes and their compliance with the scientific method; in the case of LPP, this has to do with its accession to the SBTi and the positive assessment of its greenhouse gas reduction targets.
– A year ago, when we won our second Gold Leaf, we emphasised the dynamic changes taking place in the ESG area, including reporting. In 2023, our decarbonisation targets were scientifically verified by the SBTi, and the non-financial report, which provides a robust source of information on our sustainability projects, was drafted for the first time in line with the double materiality approach. We treat this year’s award as recognition of our efforts in going through these processes and, at the same time, as an award for being consistent in implementing our strategy and preparing for the challenges facing global business – says Sławomir Ronkowski, Head of Image Communication and Public Relations at LPP.
This year’s edition included 98 companies. The ESG Gold Leaf has been awarded to just 10 entities, less than half as many as a year ago.
